São Paulo Congonhas Airport is one of the four commercial airports serving São Paulo, Brazil. The airport is named after the neighborhood where it is located. In 2017 the airport handled over 17 million passengers. It is a hub for Avianca Brazil, Gol Airlines and TAM Airlines.
The airport was initially planned in 1919, but it did not open until 1936. In the beginning it was the private airport of VASP.
