Air Kazakstan was an airline of Kazakhstan which later became its national carrier after bankrupt Kazakstan Airlines was shut down.
The airline was established in early 1920s as Kazakhstan Airways but changed to Air Kazakstan in 1997. It ceased operations in 2004, after accumulating heavy debts. Air Astana succeeded Air Kazakstan as the country’s flag carrier.
