Jat Airways was the national flag carrier airline of Serbia. Originally founded in 1927 as Aeroput. The airline resumed operations in 1947 and was renamed to JAT – Jugoslovenski Aerotransport in 1947 and then to Jat Airways in 2003. Its flight operations were based at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, and operated scheduled international services, as well as charters. The airline was wholly owned by the government of Serbia.
