TAME is the flag carrier and the largest airline of Ecuador. Its largest hub is Mariscal Sucre International Airport.
The airline was founded in 1962 as Transportes Aereos Militares Ecuatorianos TAME. One of its objectives is to offer air transport for people and freight services to various cities in Ecuador as well as to cities in the region. Also, the airline works alongside several tour operators. TAME changed its legal status in 2011: It is now a state owned company, but no longer under the administration of the Air Force.
The company has expanded its domestic and international routes and renovated its fleet. With this new fleet TAME covers various routes in Ecuador and at an international level, the airline offers scheduled flights as well as charter flights.
