RAK Airways was the national airline of Ras Al Khaimah, one of the seven states in the United Arab Emirates.
RAK Airways was founded in 2006 and launched operations in 2007. The carrier was hard hit during the financial crisis of 2007-2010 and ceased operations in 2009. In 2010 the airline announced that it would be resuming operations with a “value-for-money” business model. RAK Airways announced the immediate suspension of all operations on 1 January 2014, citing economic consideration.
