Larnaca Airport is Cyprus’ main international gateway. In 2013 the airport served over 5 million passengers. It is the hub for Cyprus Airways.
Larnaca Airport was hastily developed towards the end of 1974 after the invasion of Cyprus by Turkey, which forced the closure of Nicosia International Airport.
